Ben Bernanke

The Fed Governor since January 31, 2006, Ben Bernanke succeeded Alan Greenspan who had been the Fed governor for 19 years. Ben Bernanke was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 13, 1953.
With degrees from Harvard University (1975) and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979), he taught at Princeton University as well as in the London School of Economics.
In addition to these experiences, Ben Bernanke sat at the Monetary Policy Council for three years and was president of the Council of Economic Advisers for the White House.
His appointment at the head of the FED by Mister George Bush was not a surprise for the markets which expected this appointment.
The appointment of Mister Bernanke’s continued the monetary policy of Mister Alan Greenspan. A lot of Mister Bernanke’s ideas were used by Mister Alan Greenspan.
